Monadnock Regional High School from Swanzey, NH is the Granite State's first Construction Challenge team - and they are going to Global Finals to compete with teams from other regional competitions around the US.

The team advanced through tough competition at the Boston Regional Tournament. The Construction Challenge, another part of the Destination ImagiNation program. The Challenge is a Career Education Initiative that helps develop the workforce of the future with teen participants competing and solving infrastructure, design, and service tech Challenges using teamwork, creativity and problem solving. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Destination ImagiNation® (DI) are working together to provide participants a real-world experience that will inspire them to explore and pursue careers in the construction industry.

The Construction Challenge includes three components:

* Presentation: Researched presentation of a local/international infrastructure issue, including the relationship between infrastructure and quality of life

* Equipping the Future: Explore and develop design as it relates to equipment design based on criteria and reproducibility in manufacturing

* Tech Simulation: Task-based solution to a simulated tech problem
