Kimberleigh, Casey, Russell, Ariane, Kris, and Michael are back to Globals and with one very proud Team Manager, Laurene Allen. "The most exciting event of the year was seeing these 6 incredible teens stretch their minds by choosing the structure problem. They truly challenged themselves by getting out of their comfort box and attempting the most challenging problem they could as their strengths as a whole have always been theatrical/ improvisation."

"That a bunch improv kids can be successful in a structure problem! It's good to take risks", according to Casey. What are they looking foward to at Globals? Michael had an answer: "The atmosphere! Everyone is there for DI and they all love the program!"

Globals Update. This adventurous team not only built an outstanding structure, they also had to create an eight minute long skit, which demonstrated a central theme of 'Connections'. All DI teams were also given a surprise item one minute before performance to integrate into their skit.

The team's skit took place against a unique set which simultaneously presented life in ancient Egypt and a Pharaoh's anticipated afterlife.

A giant golden Ankh (Egyptian symbol for eternal life) was used as a theatrical prop that connects this life to the next and also scored on its multiple uses. The performance began with a unique soundtrack as a background to interpretive dance. The skit followed a ruthless pharaoh in Ancient Egypt who knew not the dangers of excessive greed. All she cared about is her pyramid being built, so she will achieve the greatest honor - eternal life. A slave is treated harshly as he toils to build her pyramid (represented by the team designed structure). To her inconvenience, war breaks out and one of her subjects begs for protection from invaders as well as help to support his starving family - she refuses. Ironically, she slips on a pomegranate peel, faints, and is embalmed before she actually dies in a comic emergency room-like scene.

After a team choreographed interpretive dance transition by two "statues" the pharaoh follows the Ankh and finds herself in a unique surreal setting. In fact, she's on the set of a popular game show entitled "This is Your Eternal Life" where the host is none other than Osiris. Failing to prove herself worthy of a proper afterlife, the pharaoh wins eternity in the depths of the underworld with a crocodile. Finally, the pharaoh recognizes that one is not guaranteed immortality by one's status in life but how one's life is lived. A dramatic soliloquy by her shoddily treated subject ends the presentation.
