Globals Update, May 22. Another outstanding improv performance for Portsmouth Middle School!

In the tradition of the classic tale, "Goldilocks In the Hotel Lobby", (if there isn't one, there should be,) we find Goldilocks in an internal struggle with herself.

She has broken the little chair and must decide whether to admit it or not. With the devil at one shoulder and an angel at the other, she realizes that she shouldn't run away from her fears, and that accidents happen - even to our unusually cool chairs.

"Going to regionals was the first layer of the cake. States was the second layer. Globals is the icing on the cake. It's also great that we get to stay together longer as a team". Meet Morgan, Morgan, Kara, Marley, Jenna and Colby - Portsmouth Middle School Improv team with almost 20 years combined DI experience.

Team Manager Susan McClure summed it up:"It has been a wonderful experience to watch this group of girls develop into a true team machine. They developed their own set of self-governing rules to allow for the most efficient use of their time while solving the DI problem. This also ensured that everyone got a chance to voice her own opinion which is a sometimes a very difficult thing to do while working on an improve challenge. These girls have learned many valuable communication tools that will serve them well for many years to come. The excitement of going to the Global Finals will be a lifetime memory and further their friendship and team bonds."

Co Team Manager Michelle Vangel said, "Taking on an improv problem was an opportunity for these girls to stretch their wings. Each of them moved beyond their comfort zone and honed their ability to think on their feet. They quickly developed a sense of safety within the group that allowed them to take some risks they hadn't taken before. They moved beyond duct tape and painted cardboard to really expand their imaginations and their confidence.

They take such pride in having their hard work pay off and they are thrilled just to be going to Tennesee. They've made it clear that they've won, regardless of how well they do in competition there. "

More information will be updated as available about this team from Global Finals.
