Globals Update, May 22 - "Our past represents our future", said the spider to the fly. In fact these spiders have a lot to tell us about all linds of webs.

With a solid performance wrapped around solid construction and engineering, their feather-light structure was DIlightful, and the team is happy to have succeeded at a well rounded solution!

The web of life, a very DIrect reference to how we are all ConnecDId! The performance had a hungry spiDIr (Emily) against two innocent looking, very DIgestable flies (Nicholas and Michael ). The flies try to convince the spider to spare them as they journey through time and around the world DIscussing how we are all ConnecDId to each other in multiple ways, like the threads on the web.

Supporting players (Brittany and Amanda) provide the enchanting chorus and special effects that bring each episode of the journey to life. The ConnecDId structure crew (Monica and Monique ) try to convince the balsa creation to hold just a few more pounds. The tubular inspiration of Nicholas was brought to life by Michael , Monica , and Emily after a lot of chips, dip, juice, soda, popcorn, cutting, twisting, bending, snapping and drilling.

When you get all the pieces to fit together and gingerly place the weights on top, you will find that a 12 gram structure held 565 pounds before going kerplop!

Emily, Amanda, Monica, Monique, Brittany, Michael and Nicholas are one of two St.Patrick's schools going to Global Finals. (Click for information on the elementary level team).

What skills made this team a world class team? As the team members and they'll tell you everything from "Thinking on my feet", and "How different people connect" to "learning more about history" and "patience".

Many are looking forward to flying for the first time while learning more about other countries from the teams participating from around the world.

Information will be updated as available about this team from Global Finals.
