4th and 5th graders Jamie, Sara, Ashley, Byron, Brittany and Jordan impressed their first year team manager Wendy Marker. "The team ran into many technical difficulties, but never once did they consider quitting! They just kept coming up with new ideas until they solved their dilemma. They really learned to work together". This was echoed by co-TM Beth Matthew.

Our hero - Mr. Nocturnal

The team's quest was to go in Search of the Perfect Night's Sleep. Their seeker, Mr. Nocturnal, who has been up for 6 days and 6 nights (driven by Jordan), travels to Hungry. There at a Hungarian Goose farm, he learns, from Brittany, that Hungry is one of the last European countries to raise geese for their soft down to make pillows. As Mr. Nocturnal tries to raise a goose egg, by way of a device made of K-NEXs, his reward is a nice soft pillow.

Traveling on to the United States, to the Amish country in Pennsylvania, he learns the way of the Amish, from Ashley, an Amish quilter and traveler Sara. As Ashley shows the hand made quilts (the team made), Mr. Nocturnal tries to place a blue fuzzy pipecleaner on top of a two foot table, using magnets on top to hold the pipecleaner in place, his reward is his own hand made Amish quilt.

And last, he travels to Austria, the music capitol of the world in search of some quiet soothing music. There he meets Jamie, playing her grand piano (made by the team of recycled items such as cardboard, egg cartons, yarn, vacuum tubes, kazoos, and of course duct tape, with a real keyboard built in). After some conversation with her bust of Mozart (Byron), they come up with some nice calming classical music which Jamie plays, as Mr. N. travels up a one foot ramp, covered in sand paper for better traction.

As he goes off the ramp, and heads for the portal, his last reward is a CD of Mozart's favorite relaxing songs. In the end Mr. Nocturnal, with his soft pillow, warm quilt, and his CD of soothing music finally finds that he's found the right things for the Perfect Night's Sleep.
