Globals Update - Their performance was an outstanding clean, crisp performance that AVS-DI can easily be proud of - just in case having one of the top teams in the world isn't enough.

The performance opened with shadow puppets Lucas and Dale (Samantha S. and Cory)in their dressing room, talking about their upcoming performance of their traveling French cooking show,"Fast Cooking for the Slow Moving".

The show begins with an intro by Frenchie (Sara), the hostess with french fries on her dress and beret on her head. Two heads pop up through a table to connect to the snail bodies and the show begins. The snails are assisted by an extremely large human puppet, Jeff the Chef (Samantha M.), who happens to have a very bad cold.

They begin making french toast and have to use salt substitute. Jeff questions why salt substitute. The snails explain by breaking into song about how salt kills snails. The performance is disrupted by Jeff who now running a fever, drips salty sweat from his forehead onto the snails. They shrivel up and die. Frenchie the hostess runs to take over the show and calls in the 2 cameramen (Cassie) to assist.

They discover a note for a secret recipe in case of a salty accident. Once they have prepared the french toast and the secret recipe, the timer goes off on the oven. The large thermometer rises and the oven door pops open all by itself to reveal the secret recipe. The snails are now escargot. They are shown by 2 hand puppets. They discuss their fate and the show ends with Frenchie saying it was a good show but a little less salt next time. Hans the Musician (Danny) plays music throughout the performance.

The Auburn Village Middle School team is a multitalented group. When you put us all together, we become a creativity soup. First, you add Samantha, who can be quite humerous. Her vast wealth of ideas is unbelievably numerous. Next, throw in Sara, who likes to play it straight. When it is time to research, she is the first to investigate. Spice it up with Cory, who is always upbeat. She will tackle any problem until it is complete. Mix in Alex, who is always fun to be around. When things aren't working, his persistence will astound. Sprinkle in a little Cassie, who has a quiet determination. Our team would not be complete without her participation. Pour in Sam, the girl with the machine that sews. Because of her, our costumes look like they are made by pros. Next add a cupful of Danny, the boy with the keyboard. His musical ability is sure to have you floored. Finally add our two coaches, Karen and Heidi. They made sure the basement was neat and tidy. When the soup is combined we have our team.
Going to Globals is our dream!
