Special AwardsThe DaVincI Award: For Outstanding Creativity Hooksett Memorial School, Improving Along team 96892-2, Elementary Division. From all aspects of this presentation, this team took risks and showed outstanding creativity beyond their age through a minimalist approach to solving this Challenge. They focused on the abstract. Their work was enthusiastic, well-organized, and showed outstanding self-editing abilities throughout their performance. Auburn Village School, Sudden SerenDIpity, team 54975-2, Middle Division. The appraisal team was very impressed with the creativity of the team’s theme, time machine, posters and props. Everything this team made paid attention to detail. The posters, costuming, quilts, games, and invention were not only artistically designed but elaborate use of texture was used throughout. Their invention was intricately detailed in both design and presentation. The Renaissance Award For outstanding Design, Engineering, Execution, Performance Bow School District, More to The Story team 130-11898-6, Rising Stars! Division (early primary). The team showed exceptional skill in their creation of scenery and props, including a living room, bedroom, quilt, and TV on wheels. Riddle Brook School, More to The Story team 130-16410-6, Rising Stars! Division (early primary). The Appraiser team was very impressed with the team’s acting skills; they created a tale that clearly showed … more of the story. They exhibited skills above their age level and a confidence in their highly integrated material that was impressive. Merrimack Valley Middle School, Sudden SerenDIpity team 55759-1. Awarded by both the Instant Challenge Appraiser team, the MVMS team . The appraisers were extremely impressed with their excellent communication skills to effectively “swing” from idea conception to outcome. Auburn Village School, DIsigning Bridges team 54975-1, Elementary Division. The team demonstrated exceptional innovation in the use of materials for their sturcture, and reinforced with an elaborate performance to coheively connect their weight-bearing structure with their research. Amherst Middle School, IMPROVing Along team 58748-1, Middle Division. Awarded for exceptional design, engineering and execution using the few objects allowed in an improv performance. Newfound Regional High School II, Live! It's RaDIo DI! team 45225-1, Secondary Division. This team demonstrated exceptional design and engineering in developing their technical sound element .
Spirit of Discovery and Imagination Award (Spirit of DI Award): Conant Elementary School DIsigning Bridges team 87365-1, Elementary Division. In order for their stucture to qualify, the team made adjustments, trying over eight times.The Appraiser team felt the "never give up" attitude of the Conant team, and the attitude and "get the job done" spirit was truly worthy of exceptional notice.
