Amherst Middle School

Meet Will, Quinn, Parker, Anjelica, Danielle, and Tess from Amherst Middle School!

This DI team ALWAYS has LOTS of fun together. Most of the team members have been together for at least four years and they truly enjoy each other.

From trips to Home Depot (Will), working together (Parker) and "just doing DI" (Quinn) this team has FUN!

The most important part of DI for Dani is: " having fun, making friends, and learning something new, but have fun while doing it. Also, learning to strategize and thinking on your feet."

Quinn, Will and Parker all agree that having fun is a very important part of DI and Will adds that teamwork is also an important aspect - not to mention the Cake Walks at tournaments!

Quinn adds that "DI expands our creativity, helping us with our outside life" .

And what a start to Globals...

With the New Hampshire Floods of 2006, the Amherst
Middle School team had to rescue their props from the flood waters - by boat!

They were taken across Baboosic Lake and then transported safe and dry to the NH-DI prop truck.
Next stop for these props, Knoxville, TN!

The team came into a well represented Team New Hampshire crowd, but a big time Destination ImagiNation audience with a lot of support!

The team's performance was an entertaining comedy about an archeological dig of the pyramids in Egypt. The greedy "President" of England funds the dig to search for a pharaoh's mummy and his valuable crown.

The audience was transported to Egypt with a stunning backdrop of the Egyptian desert, a 5 ft high pyramid, which rotated to reveal a hidden door into the pyramid, a sarcophagus, a panel of hand-painted hieroglyphics inside the pyramid, and costumes. Once the Egyptian Unification crown was found, in the hands of the mummy, it transformed both the personality and physical characteristics of the "President" of England, when he places it on his head.

This being DI, you can be sure that the team used lots of cardboard, paint and DUCT TAPE! This being the Amherst Middle School DI team you can be sure there were LOTS of laughs!
