This team member had micro-surgery on her leg yesterday. Although confined to a wheelchair with her leg elevated, her performance as the main character Zeus was of an Olympic standard. She carried on with a “lightning flair” and the team’s performance was seamless because of it. Her commitment to her team and her actions make her worthy of the “Spirit of DI” award

This team showed exceptional teamwork and perseverance. When their scenery fell apart in the staging area, the team remained composed and demonstrated exceptional spirit as they continued to experience “set difficulties”. They made adjustments on the fly, and demonstrating incredible teamwork in the face of adversity.

This team’s unique solution solidly integrated technical elements with the story line, and incorporated an UNUSUAL use of duct tape and an electrical circuit.

This team was outstanding in their elegant use of recycled, simple materials to create complex elements of the performance. They effectively transported us to their chosen country by their complex and convincing scenery and costumes. Their narrative character was superbly articulated, underscoring the team's solution.

This is a rare award for the pre-competitive Rising Stars! team. This team's solution included a large number of props, completely team made. One “table” in particular was constructed completely out of newspapers and tape was very structurally sound.

This team had the appraiser team entertained from the very beginning of their solution. From the creative use of materials in the animal costumes to the smooth flow of the story line, this team really SHINED! Starting out by singing their synopsis, they kept us laughing with an ingenious solution to their challenge!

This team’s performance took us back to the world’s fair and the unveiling of the Eiffel tower. The performance was engaging, clever, and well executed. Highly integrated research and humor underscored their solution to set it apart!
