Bicentennial Dizzy Dragons, How'd tHAT Happen?, Elementary, Renaissance Award
The required technical device was very intricate, showing more than just time and effort.
This young elementary team really researched technical options, worked together with electricity and carpentry to create a unique sound machine to enhance the skit. We are convinced these young children worked very long and hard to build this technical element.
Hollis Elementary School, Team 3, Rising Stars 1-2 Changeroo, Spirit of DI Award
We were inspired and thoroughly impressed with this team's ability to work very closely together. One team member, while in the prep room, suggested a last-minute change to the team's introduction to the audience. Despite their very young age, each of the 7 team members listened intently and participated in the decision-making process for this change. The change went si smoothly that it was impossible to notice it. Lastly, just before leaving the prep room, the team reminded the head appraiser that the most important thing was to have fun. Clearly, this team had a lot of fun and it showed in the spirit of its presentation.
St. Joseph's JHS Alumni, Kidz Rulz Challenge, Secondary Level, Renaissance Award
This team wowed the appraisers by not only solving the challenge, but also adding many additional elements. These elements were complex with exceptional integration. All these were skillfully integrated into an outstanding performance.
