Alton Central School,
Kidz Rulz, Middle Level,
Spirit of DIscovery and Imagination
This team, through circumstances beyond their control, arrived without most of their props. So with two props, they created an alternate solution within the bounds of their tournament data sheet.
They displayed exceptional teamwork in creating a new solution under a deadline, in stressful circumstances. Their attitude and enthusiasm were also exceptional. They were cool and calm explaining to the appraisers what happened and how they had made some changes. They kept a truly positive, can-do attitude throughout their challenge.
Mascoma High School,
Kidz Rulz, Secondary Level,

This team wowed the appraisers humorous characters, completely rhyming dialog and music that was seamlessly integrated into the story with delightful singing and choreography. The team’s polished and well-timed dramatic presentation and sophisticated topical humor united to thoroughly entertain the audience and the appraisers!
Strafford School,
Back at You!,Middle Level, Renaissance Award
This team brought the sea to life, complete with seaweed, coral reefs, singing, and dancing - all tightly integrated to further the team's solution.
Seminary Hill, Back at You!,Elementary Level,
Spirit of DIscovery and Imagination
DI values the concept of trying another approach when the current approach is not working to a team’s satisfaction. The Back At You! Appraiser team encountered such a team today. We think they exemplify a process that many teams go through. This team started the year with “some problems working together.” By the time they appeared before the appraisers they were working very well together. Their solution also evolved. There was Plan A, Plan B, Plan C and Plan D. When they performed before the appraisers, they were prepared for many eventualities and did, in fact, have to adapt—executing it seamlessly.
So as a wonderful example of what we expect of all DI teams, we award this Spirit of DI award to the team from Seminary Hill!
Nashua High School North,
Inside DImension, Secondary Level, Spirit of DIscovery and Imagination
In the Spirit of DI, Nashua’s team rose to the occasion. After overcoming the loss of two team members, structure, and props moments before today’s competition the three remaining team members rallied together. They performed with enthusiasm, spirit, and dignity. It was noted that the team made it a point to thank those who supported them.
