#130-93027 Elem Level / Switching traDItions
Welcome the team from Chester Academy in Chester! Kyle, Lauren, Lily, Morgan, Brian, Melissa and Brianna and part of Team New Hampshire as they head to Destination ImagiNation Global Finals!

The entire team agreed that the most challenging part of DI was actually working together! They all recognized that they have strong opinions and tons of ideas. "Listening to each other and working to compromise was not easy", according to Morgan, Lauren and Brian. When the team advanced through Regionals and State Finals, the importance of good teamwork was clear.
"The most fun part of DI was being with all my friends every week", said Kyle. "Creating the skit, making the props and performing the skit were all the funnest things"! "It is too hard to just pick one thing" added Brianna.
Their Challenge, Switching TraDItions is not easy - and just calling it improv is understating it. The team is required to blend improvisational acting, story development, research, social studies, geography, theater arts, teamwork, design and innovation. AND meet strict scoring areas.
"I think that the funnest part will actually be when we finally get to Globals. I can't wait to go to Tennessee. I dream about standing at Opening Ceremonies. I want to meet kids from all around the world!", said Lauren."It will be an honor to be part of Team New Hampshire", added Lily
They will have their moment in the Tennessee sun representing New Hampshire!
The Knoxville Convention Center Lecture Hall was an outstanding venue for this challenge that relies heavily on the team's think-on-their-feet abilities, along with significant research into social studies, global cultures and geography. And it was rocking for another member of Team New Hampshire!
A young girl finds her grandmother's diary in the attic. When they look through it together, the grandmother's travels seem to come to life! Their "traditionator", the device used in the story to highlight one or more of the Nations’ Traditions, was simple and brilliant at the same time - and the overall effect was outstanding!
The result was a loud burst of applause from not only the Team New Hampshire supporters, but from the audience from around the US and around the World!
What was the most important part of the year? After working together, "getting all our facts right was the most important thing I think", according to Lily.
They did get them right, and they worked hard. Now have archived their moment on the Global stage in the process.
Well done!
