Hollis Elementary Schools, Hollis
#130-45831 Mid Level / DIrect Flight

Welcome the team from Hollis Elementary School! Quinn, Jonah, Johanna, Grace, Aaron, and MacKenzie are heading to Global Finals!

These six graders understand the learning processes that happen in a year of Destination ImagiNation!

"The most challenging thing about Destination Imagination to me is having to mix all ideas together. You might have this really good idea for the Instant Challenge, or your challenge, but the main point in DI is to learn how to work as a team", according to Grace. Joanah adds, "the most important part of DI is teamwork and being creative. Always respect what others have to offer and think outside the box. The most fun part about DI is either making your parents, audience, and appraisers laugh or making hilarious inside jokes with your team".

This is not easy when the team challenge blends technical design and construction, innovation and design process, math, experimentation, theatre arts, scientific principals of flight and teamwork.

" The most challenging part of DI is compromising with the rest of your team. You don't always get exactly what you want, but it always works out in the end anyway", added Kenzie.

"I think the most importing thing in Destination Imagination is to learn how to get along with your team mates, and to work as a team",adds Grace. "And to be flexible, because your idea might not always be picked. So, not to keep fighting for your idea because YOU think it's the best, but to go along with your teammates. The most fun thing in DI is nothing is impossible in DI. In your performance, ANYTHING IN THE WORLD CAN HAPPEN! Even if it's from a bratty 7 year old on a plane, to a co-pilot who's in love with Julie Andrews".

Their strengths in teamwork, innovation, creativity and problem solving skills have placed "The Red Flames" into Global Finals once again!
